Hello my Fellow TH''ers

I am giving you my over-view of the Whites DFX from my point of view.

Having used the whites DFX for the past two years I can only say that it is an impressive detector. Learning the controls and settings was rather easy for me as I stepped up from the Whites XLT. I search only in the Preset coin mode. I have tried using several other formulas that I copied from different internet sites and can only say that if you wish to go that way you are welcome to do so. The Whites DFX is easy to change the search mode, but I for one have gotten use to hearing my tones as they were originally set up and attempting to teach this old dog a new trick will take more time than I want to invest. While my overall finds numbers may not look outwardly impressive I can only say that when I am out in the dirt and hear anything I dig it up. The DFX with the standard coil setup has found targets at seven to nine inches and several larger targets closer to the foot depth. I think the best selling point of the Whites DFX is the fact that it can locate smaller items which other detectors have  serious problems locking onto. This is not to say that the Whites DFX locks on to every target but I find that the percentage of targets located is better. While I recommend Whites detector based on the dependability of the brand I overwelmingly recommend the Whites DFX to junior and more experienced TH''ers.
